Nurseries, schools, childcarers and anyone who looks after babies and young children. Sessions are shaped for staff who care for children day to day.
Practical focus
Practical practice with paediatric manikins and scenarios relevant to childcare settings. Learners build confidence to respond to emergencies involving infants and young children.
Delivery approach
Delivered at your premises, UK-wide, as a group session for your staff. We come to your school or nursery so learning happens where it matters.
Course information
Plan your team training with clear information about learning time, assessment and certification. Start times and breaks are confirmed with your organisation; taught hours exclude breaks.
- Duration
- Minimum 12 taught hours over at least two days for the classroom qualification. Session times and breaks are confirmed at booking.
- Assessment
- Practical demonstrations and written assessment. Learners must pass both elements.
- Certification
- The FAA Paediatric First Aid qualification is valid for three years after successful completion.
What you will learn
- Paediatric first aider role and emergency assessment
- Infant and child CPR, recovery position, choking and seizures
- Bleeding, shock, bites, stings and minor injuries
- Bone, joint, head and spinal injuries
- Childhood illnesses, allergic reactions and anaphylaxis
- Burns, poisoning, electric shock and temperature-related incidents
